I CANNOT believe it is May! Where is this time going?!
This is the month I start rehearsing for Chicago Summer Opera and I am anxious to get started! Also, I get to live with my best friend in the city! However, I still have 3 weeks to go! I will be ready!!
Get your tickets for the Leading Ladies of the Opera House Cabaret on May 23rd. Please note, the date changed! It is going to be night. I cannot wait to share the stage with these talented ladies!!
I am so proud of my company cast! They are doing such a great job. Only one more weekend to go!
This month will go fast. I only have three weeks of teaching this month before I end for the school year. It is hard to believe in a few weeks I will be saying goodbye to my seniors! I will miss them greatly, but wish them the best of luck in the future. Hopefully, I will see them for the couple weeks I will be teaching over the summer in between programs!
Happy May, everyone!!
Company opens on April 25th! Get your tickets!!
That is all!
Spring Break is here, but there is a lot of work to do with lesson make-ups, and prepping for the opera programs this summer!
I hope you all get to go on trip to someplace warm and have a relaxing vacation…then, bring that weather back with you! Please and thank you!
Tomorrow we close Anything Goes. It is a bittersweet end, but I look forward to the next project………….(drum roll)………………I will help Vocal Direct the Memorial Opera House’s production of Company! which opens in April!!!
I am praying that in the meantime, the weather will get better. It is still winter out with zero signs of spring to come. PLEASE Spring, come soon! I miss you!
It has been a very interesting rehearsal process with weather issues, etc., but I could not be more excited to open Anything Goes tomorrow!!! I hope to see you there at the Memorial Opera House!!
To my cast mates, Break a Leg!
Also, in other news, I was accepted to OperaWorks and I am SO excited!!! It will be my first trip to CA. Watch out LA, I will see you in June/July!
WOW! My week has turned around!
I had an unexpected weekend to say the least. On Thursday, I had a surprise visit at me AG rehearsal from my love. He came home for what I thought, was just Valentine’s Day. On Saturday, I started my day going into work knowing that afterwards I would be going on a date. Instead, I went to work at the theater and left my shift entering said theater for a special surprise performance surrounded by family and serenaded by friends and ended with Jeff asking me to be his wife!!!!!!!!!!! This doesn’t do it justice to the amazing “cabaret” that Jeff put on, but you get the idea. I am SO happy and excited to start planning my life with such a wonderful man. He is such a huge supporter of my career, and already I feel better about where I am headed in 2014!
May you have some great unexpected event happen to you which helps put things into perspective and give you renewed hope for the rest of the year!
OK! So, here is an update: I had an amazing time catching up with my friends in
Cambridge! I also miss being able to frequent Burdick’s Chocolates, but I did buy some goodies to bring back with me!
The first audition went well, and I landed a callback on Saturday which could have gone better. Things happen, and I don’t regret flying out there for it. I had an amazing time and it made me miss living out there.
I want to send a special thank you to my friends Justin and Sarah for allowing me to stay in their guestroom and being the best hosts. I loved being there and catching up!
Sunday, I flew home (delayed) and made it just in time for my audition in Chicago. Let’s just say THAT was the worst audition I have given since undergrad. This one will be hard to get over. For those reading this…just be reminded that we all have those days. The trick is to forgive yourself which is easier said than done.
I will be honest, this weather, these last two auditions, and the fact that next week is Valentine’s Day and my Valentine is in GA has me a bit down. I am hoping and praying for renewed strength and hope for the future.
Goodnight. Make it a great week!
NEWS! I will be playing First Boy in Chicago Summer Opera’s, The Magic Flute in June! YAY!
The last few weeks have been full of snow days, prepping students for the ISSMA competition, and rehearsing for both Anything Goes and my upcoming Boston and Chicago auditions!!
I am really looking forward to heading to Boston for a weekend to see all my school friends and roommates!! It has been too long!
Until then, stay warm!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday with the people that mean the most to you. Take today as a reflection of this past year and what you want to make happen in the year to come.
I am feeling refreshed going into this new year and have lots of hopes for 2014!
